SUMMARY:SDWF Racial Equity Series: Beginning Where You Are as Who You Are
DESCRIPTION:SDWF is partnering with Dr. Zachary Green\, expert trainer and Director of Leadership Development at the University of San Diego\’s Nonprofit Institute\, to bring you this learning session\, \”Beginning Where You Are as Who You Are\” as the second session in our two-part Racial Equity Series. \nShame about one’s ignorance and fear of confronting friends and family who engage in racist behaviors have been identified as key factors contributing to an epidemic of silence in the movement for racial justice. This webinar will help attendees assess where they\’re at on the equity journey and provide the tools to help us take the next step and forge a pathway towards a greater voice on the lifelong journey of racial equity. \nMust register in advance to attend – Zoom details will be sent closer to the event date. \n____________________________________________ \nSpecial thanks to our 2021 Diversity Equity and Inclusion Sponsor\, Cox Communications

SUMMARY:SDWF Racial Equity Series: Creating a Common Language for the Conversation
DESCRIPTION:Join us on March 11 for Session 1 of our Racial Equity Series as we learn to forge a common language for our conversations on racial equity.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSDWF is partnering with Dr. Zachary Green from the University of San Diego\’s Nonprofit Institute to bring you this learning session\, \”Creating a Common Language for the Conversation\” as the first session in a two-part Racial Equity Series. \nBeginning with an exploration of what we mean by race and equity\, the presentation shifts to consider definitions and different perspectives on concepts such as white fragility\, privilege\, systemic racism\, and anti-racism. The aim of the session is to help listeners learn and feel better equipped to enter conversations on race. \nOur Racial Equity Series will be held in two sessions: \nMarch 11: \”Creating a Common Language for the Conversation\” \nApril 8: \”Beginning Where You Are As Who You Are\” \nThe Eventbrite link is for Session 1 of the series. \nAlthough it is not required\, we hope that you will join us for both sessions since they will build upon one another. \nMust register in advance to attend – Zoom details will be sent closer to the event date.
