We appreciate the year-long effort of our Discovery Team, led by Erica Ueland and Valentina Jones-Wagner. Their team members met with area experts, held community meetings, surveyed the SDWF membership, and generally immersed themselves in the subject. Their recommended guidelines were endorsed by the SDWF board a few weeks ago, released to the nonprofit community and we held a Grantseekers’ Forum this week.

This year’s grants will support programs that develop basic skills and knowledge for improved performance in school and life. The target population will be individuals and small groups of elementary schools students who live at or below the poverty level.
